Toddler and Preschool Spring Learning Activities Packet

Here’s what you get in this 36 page printable packet:

Toddler and Preschool Spring Learning Activities Packet

Spring Beginner Patterning Activity

Skills: Math, Color Recognition

  • Cut apart the pattern strips and the matching tile pieces.
  • Invite toddlers and young preschoolers to notice the patterns in each strip, placing the tiles on top of the matching pictures.
  • Older preschoolers can use the tiles without the strips, creating their own patterns.

Bug Symmetry Activity

Skills: Math

  • Cut apart the cards and then cut again on the center dashed lines.
  • Pick up one card and find the matching half. Notice how they look the same!
  • Put the two cards together to create one whole bug.
  • Toddlers: Make two sets of each bug. Cut one bug in half and keep the other bug whole. Place the whole bug on the table and invite your toddler to place the matching halves on top.

Spring Seed Double Sided Counting Cards

Skills: Counting; Number Recognition

  • Cut and fold each card, taping them to popsicle sticks for a flippable sign. (For best results, after taping the stick to the inside of the card, apply a glue stick around the edges to seal the card closed.)
  • As each card is held up, count the number of seeds on one side, then flip it over to identify the number.

Count the Flower Petals

Skills: Counting, Number Recognition

  • Cut around the number circles and each flower.
  • Count the petals on each flower and place the matching numbered circle in the center of the flower.
  • Toddlers and young preschoolers can use the numbered flowers, placing the matching numbered circle on top.
  • Preschoolers who can identify numbers will be more challenged to use the unnumbered flowers.

Teachers, use this as a circle time activity! Attach each flower to a popsicle stick (either numbered or unnumbered) and give one to each child. Go around the circle and invite the children to tell you how many petals are on the flowers they are holding.

Left to Right Motor Tracing Cards

Skills: Fine Motor

  • Practice moving a writing tool from left to right!
  • Start with the flower on the left and follow the dashed lines/curves, stopping at the bee on the right.

Teachers, add this activity to the writing center. You can make enough copies to each child gets at least one sheet, or you can laminate the sheet to be used over and over again with dry erase markers, erasing the marks in between.

Flower Counting Activity

Skills: Counting; Number Recognition

  • Cut out the circular counting dots.
  • Notice the number in the center of the flower and find the circle with the matching number of dots.
  • Place that circle on top of the number.
